Garmin Explore 2 and a 2 hour phone call!
It was actually closer to 1.5 hours on the phonecwith Garmin. I will say that the tech guy was great! Desktop and my phone wouldn't play with Garmin Express. He determined that the version was a few times out of date. The rep asked if I had another phone and that seemed to allow the updates. It is now connected to our desktop and updating the North America maps. With our speed it will be another hour at least.
Fortunately we don't leave for our tour for 7 weeks! |
What did they tell you about switching from North America to Europe for the internal maps?
|
After determining that updates were needed I went through the process of first updating the North America and Middle America maps then I deleted them. I then load the Europe maps, there are 3 separate one. And it says they are there! Just wondering how I can actually verify that they are really there.

Can't you plan and make a course with your Garmin Explore 2? Make courses for the areas you plan to ride.
Or just import some courses you made on Garmin Connect, Strava, RWGPS or such and then load and review them. |
We use Cycle Travel to plan our route. But we needed maps of Europe for our next tour.

Open the map and zoom in. Find a section of Europe in each zone and zoom into it to street level.
