Peter White has E3 and edelux photos
There has been lots of wondering what the new hot dynamo lights look like .
Peter White Now has Photos of the Lumotec IQ Fly , Schmidt Edelux and the Supernova E3, as well as the e6 and Inoled 10+ (on another page)
interesting enough the IQ Fly is very close to the edelux at half the price. too bad its a goofy looking light , but it works
The Supernova E3 is plenty bright and does spill light up and down. one thing I do like with the supernova is (according to pam "blayleys", and Peters photo ) the supernova E3 lights the whole road and yes some of the trees (due to spill/symmetrical beam)from top of beam to your front wheel.
Pot holes , glass and other hazards dont dissapear as with the focused beam cutoff and can be seen the whole way, easier to navigate/react .
I have the Inoled 20+, Peter has a photo of the 10+ on the site , the Inoled beam is much wider than the IQ fly edelux or supernova E3, very nice when in town but when riding faster in the burbs and the light aimed out , it does have that long dark spot in front of the wheel, and yes Ive hit potholes and stuff that I didnt notice in the lit up area , and /or lost it when in the dark zone and couldnt see when they got close , Im not keen on a battery fill in light either so HMMMM???

Here is my edelux installed on the Surly big dummy. The edelux with its aluminium jacket has got a great finish. It should provide better cooling capabilites due to metal casing and therefore provide better LED efficiency. Lighting is way brighter than my old Inoled 20+, but Inoled has very much improved in the meantime. BTW my Inoled failed after one and a half year of usage. LED was completely dimmed down and had to be replaced. After this, I started to use the inoguard protective cable to increase durability hopefully.
The edelux light sensor on the other hand (apparently I got one of the first charge) is very picky with dimmed daylight, which means, it switches on as soon as not exposed to sunlight, e.g. when it gets cloudy. This will be fixed as to my knowledge, but I am not very happy about that, since in my opinion the sensor is a perfect thing to use if threshold is adjusted correctly.
BTW a German parts supplier has got lots of specs on his page, comparing several current headlights.

Just installed the IQ Fly N Plus on my Xtracycle and couldn't be happier. I don't find that it looks dorky (I mean, it's on a Xtracycle for crissakes, "looks" went out the window long ago), and far more importantly, it works really well. Totally blows away the Cateye EL-320 I had been using, and I was pretty happy with it (aside from it needing batteries). Granted, I ride in an urban area with relatively low speed traffic, so maybe my lighting needs (or at least, what I consider acceptable) are lower than others.
