My Fenix Rack Mount Pics

X-post from touring forum.

Figured out a great way to mount my Fenix lights. This is perfect if you have lots of space on your front rack.

I found some foam "tubes" at a local surplus store. Then I slit the bottoms so they would fit around the bars. Then I built up the rear by wrapping a couple pieces of old tire tube around one of the beams so the lights would be angled slightly down. Then I used blue electrical tape to tape them down. Blue tape works best. ;) They are secured by two O-rings per flashlight, with an additional large O-ring for redundancy because yes, I know, the Space Shuttle blew up because of an O-ring failure. They are still adjustable by adding shims if you need to. Popsicle stick or something, little twig maybe, works fine.

Even better, undersling them on the bottom side of the rack platform, so you can still pile stuff on the rack itself when needed.

I just ordered 2 fenix l2d's a moment ago. :) Nice

I'll try that tonight.

Looks like a pretty neat setup. :thumb:

The only slight disadvantage I see if I compare this setup to using lockblocks is that the lockblocks let me adjust the angle of the lights on the fly (tilt up, tilt down), which I sometimes like to be able to do while riding. But again, that's solid looking setup you have, and if you have the lights adjusted to where you want them, my point above won't make a huge difference.

Maybe I'll order two more and run four... just for kicks, so I can adjust two on the fly... like some crazy folk around here. ;)
