is this a new item on DX? P7 for bike

HA-III SSC P7-C (SXO) 3-Mode 900-Lumen LED Bike Light Set
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.25149

it seems pretty good, but at that price, i think i regular P7 + $2 bike mount (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.8274)

meanwhile i was looking for that, also found this new mount i didn't see before.

(i'm shopping for additional lights and bike mounts :) )

i think i'm going to order one of that and give it a try. :thumb:

ohhh!... this one seems even better, and a bit more secure

It is new. The US based GeoMan also has them for a mere $4 more, shipping included. http://www.geomangear.com/index.php?...roducts_id=138

Those mounts look like a step in the right direction, I just hope that they aren't made from the ultra brittle plastic that some of their other QR mounts are made from.

thanks Znomit
didn't know it was discussed already.
and from the info, it seems like a crappy light.

so the good old P7 flashlight + mount is still the better way to go :D

I'd take some of the comments with a pinch of salt, some of the negatives raised are by people who haven't even seen one and some who are emotionally committed to their existing lights.

Worse still, at least one of the detractors designs, makes and attempts to retail some rather shoddy untested P7 housings and clearly fears this new light will be direct competition.

I'd recommend that you wait until a few people on here have received these lights and actually tried them.

It would be a pity to convict the accused without any sort of fair trial.....

As these lights are tried and tested P7 design and technlogy and very likely made by an experienced torch manufacturer, there's no reason yet to assume they are any better or worse than the average P7 torch.

For the record, my P7 torch, charger, mount and batteries cost more than this new cycle light.

If I hadn't already invested and was starting from scratch I would definitely choose the cycle light - easier charging, 4 x 18650, it very likely weighs less (than my set up), neater install, etc....

:)

no the part i read and did not like is the water problem, and yes it is very true.

if the o ring is cheapo it'll leak over time.
the design of the wired 2 piece connector, can also sip water into the battery pack

that enough has already raised the no no flag for me.

i like the 1 piece design of the P7 flash light is water tight, small, and it works great, and it fits anywhere

got 2 on the handle bar, 1 on my helmet
