GPS tracking
I'm about to start a 4 day trip to Europe and wanted to use the GPS on my mobile phone to allow people to see where I am.
I'm considering using GPSed.com as it makes clear the traffic is generates and therefore allows me to estimate the network costs. I haven't been able to find another one that makes this information available.
Does anyone have any recommendations on other possibilities?
Thanks,
Steve

Check out TrackMyTour.com if you have an iPhone. It's free and was written to minimize roaming costs.

You can also try SportyPAL to be your pal while cycling ,
it is a nice mobile phone application, and it works on every GPS enabled phone, so you can use it without any problem >Then put your tracks on their web service where everyone can see them.
Have a nice time during your trip

This thingy claims it will spit out text msgs with your position. Maybe it will work with twitter.

3dtracking has these capabilities, but allows you to send your position updates via MMS, so if you have unlimited messaging, you could go that route to skirt extra charges. They also let you embed your position data in your own website instead of having to go through theirs. Here's a web page I put together to easy my wife's mind... TrackMatt.
What phone are you using? The OS will determine which programs are available for you. Other programs I've found that do this include Nokia Sports Tracker and InstaMapper.
