Need bottle cage and bottle to fit in ladies frame GT Timberline

My wife has a 2006 GT Timberline LTD ladies frame, which has the normal down slant top bar that makes the opening of the frame small. The bike has bolt connections for a bottle cage, but there is no room to put the cage and a bottle. What do I need to make a bottle cage work for this bike. I have seen handlebar cage mounts and handlebar bags with a bottle holder, but we have no room left to add anything to the handlebars? Suggestions?

Seat tube, above the sloping top bar? Or along the top bar. As there are no bolts in either place, you'll need something like the BottleKLICK adapter by Rixen & Kaul (klick "Accessories (by location)" in the navigation, then "for frame"). At least Zefal and Minoura and maybe others make similar adapters.

There are also bottle holders for saddle.

Found the cage bracket that will work, Thanks All

Thanks for all the suggestions. I found one at a local shop in Evansville, IN (we have to travel at least an hour by car to shop bike shops) that is going to do the job. It is a Minoura Bottle Cage Holder MFR's Part #: 339-1354-00, BH-95X. Good fix for about 10.00. Thanks again for all the great help.

Unhappy Additional post to Thanks

Lets see, I referred to Olney as bike capital of the world, but no bike shops. Olney is pop. 10,000. Maybe I should rethink what I said. Lots of bike and parts offices and distributors (see my introduction post), yearly Bicycle Classic Ride sponsored by bike companies and local merchant, weekly family rides sponsored by Highway 2, and other events during the year.

Here is info on this years Bike Classic put on by the local Chamber of Commerce:

The Olney Chamber Bicycle Classic will be September 12, 2009. This year's event includes; 8am 25 mile Richland County Tour, 9:30am TrustBank Family Ride, 11am Rich Wieber Stunt Performance, and Noon is the Children's races. We will have tents from our full sponsors promoting bicycles, healthy living, and more throughout the day. AirEvac will have the helicopter from noon-2pm for visitors to see upclose. Prior to this year's event Rich Wieber will be performing at our area schools; ERES, St Joe, and WRES.

But.....No local bike shops. Go figure.

Thanks again all.
