sigma rox cadence sensor doesn't fit

Just like the tittle says, the magned that you zip tie to the crank lever touched the sensor in many places and doesnt let the pedal move forward without potentinally causing damage to the candence sensor...

has anyone else had this problem?

Can someone please post a pic of the Cateye V3 candence sesnsor installed?

I am considering sending the ROX back and going with Cateye.
Thanks,

Cateye V3 sensor unit installed.

The sensor is a single unit design containing both the cadence and wheel sensors. The cadence and wheel sensors pivot side to side and are tightened in place using the knobs you see on each end of the sensor. IMHO this design takes care of the problem you are having unless someone has experience to the contrary.

The ROX cadence magnet is in two parts, the magnet and a spacer. I assume you've removed the spacer to get more clearance. The magnet itself is about half an inch thick, which does seem thicker than my older CatEye magnet. I don't know whether it's common for bikes to lack a half inch of clearance between the crank and chainstays.

Is there something about your bike that prevents you from moving the sensor to a point with more clearance, or tilting it away from the magnet?

One problem with the CatEye single unit is that it must be positioned to take into account the speed sensor, whereas with separate sensors, you can move the sensor as far forward as necessary to get more clearance.

very true, I called sigma today and apparently I was installing the magnet with the spacer in place.
I am going to try to reinstall again today. I really like the features of the sigma computer, but I am a little dissapointed in their sensor designs.

I think the sensor designs are fine, it's the installation instructions that are deficient.

I am dissapointed in the ROX 9. Everything is great except for the fact that it doen't record cadence...
It feel like all the hype of their site is false advertizing. And you actually have to tell it to record, otherwise its not good.

Yes, because you really want it to record your tooling around in the driveway and everything else. No start/stop logging is awesome on the Rox 9.0. You can let it be passive like traditional computers if you like. I just won't give you a detailed graph.

I was talking about the logging which nothing in it's class have. I agree with the cadence statement, it should be a logged statistic as well.

The Rox stores two sets of data. The detailed log has to be started and stopped manually, but the regular log starts automatically. It still needs to be stopped manually to upload it.

I'll add my vote to saying it should log detailed cadence. I could live without the altitude readings if that meant getting the cadence readings.
