Im new to bicycling but Id still like to get a computer for my bike, Im not sure which is the best for me though. I like the idea of haveing cadence on my computer, but I also like the idea of a wireless computer. But wirerless computers with cadence are quite expensive, and wired computers with cadence are pretty inexpensive, so it seems to me i have a choice of either going with a wired computer with cadence, or going with a wierless computer with-out cadence. Im really new to this sport so what do you guys, and gals think?

Really depends on your budget. There are some decent deals to be had on wireless computers with cadence such as the Sigma BC1606 DTS + cadence. It can be had for around $50, if you shop a bit. The wired version BC1606L can be had for around $35. Or my personal favorite the Garmin Edge 705. Somewhere in the $400 neighborhood! hehehe

Just be careful, not all wireless computers using cadence are truly wireless. Some use a hybrid approach. This means wireless for the speed/distance functions and a wire for the cadence part.

I second the Sigma 1606 DTS. I was concerned about the o-ring attachment design at first, but after 1200km, they're holding up just fine.

I'm using the 1606L... no complaints. Wired takes another 5 minutes to install and adds some wires (obviously), but if you run them properly and hide the slack it's hardly noticeable.

The cadence function was good in the beginning. But, after becoming more experienced I naturally fall into a good cadence and very rarely now do I check it.
