which cyclecomputers can download

I have been looking through the threads at cycle computers and I am wondering which cycle computers can download straight into a computer? Guess I am a total geek, of course I am a computer repair person at work. This is a feature that I would like to have. Speed and distance are about the only other features that I am looking for. I am not sure how to look this up. What is this called? A cycle computer with a usb port downloadable feature. I gather that the garmin comes with this but I really dont want to spend that much and dont know if I really need all those features. Mostly just computing to work and then ride with my 6 year old. thanks

I don't have an answer, but want to subscribe to this thread so I can get the same info.
I am mild diabetic and such a device would be a good tool for me.
Thanks for asking what I have also wondered about.

For getting a lot of data, look at the Garmin cyclecomputers.. If you don't need Heart Rate or Cadence the 205 works fine, the 305 has been used by many people on here.. If you need mapping info, the new 605 and 705's are the way to go, they include full gps capability.

Check out the Sigma Rox 9.0. It can be found for around $200. It tracks speed, distance, altitude, heart rate, cadence, stop and start times, distance climbed and descended. It downloads the information to your computer and provides graphs to help you analyze it. It's wireless and very reliable.

At that price he's in Garmin territory. I picked up my 305 on sale at Best Buy with a HR monitor for $169.

+1 for the Garmin Edge. The 305 bundle can be had quite cheap now.

This is a double post (other in Road Cycling) but I thought maybe it fit better here. The specs for the Rox 9.0 say PC interface. Is there anyway to get the data into a Mac?
