Homemade Flashlight H-Bar Mount ??

I let someone borrow my backup light & mount, but now I want to mount my new TerraLux flashlight until I get my other mount back.

Any thoughts about a homemade flashlisght mount for my bars ? I'd like it to be fairly quick to remove in case I want to use it as a flashlight.

I was thinking about rubberbands & o-rings, and found some suggestions using hose clamps or conduit clamps.

Anyone else have any cool ideas ?

I use a strip of old inner tube with knot on one end. I cut a peice of minicell foam (because I have some) in the shape of the two fish lock block. The flash light is wrapped to the bar on the foam and the end of the tube is tucked under. Tip don't pull the tube to tight.

It does probably take a minute to put the light on the bar

It's cheap, soft and reliable and can be removed from the bar in a few seconds.

If you dig down into this thread: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...-to-handlebars
You will find a post by Totaled108 that shows this use of an old inner tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrfZhEzjWwg

I made a mount from a 1x2 piece of wood scrap (actually more like 0.75" x 1.5").
I cut it in half lengthwise to get two pieces 0.75" x 0.75" x 5" long, then cut a notch on each piece to go around the handlebar and clamp onto it with force provided by velcro and/or elastic strips.
I cut notches around the wood bars for those strips of velcro on the front and the rear side. I painted the wood black. Then I wrapped a strip of old innertube around the handlebar to give some friction. The flashlights get held on to the wood bars with more velcro strips.
I can use 1 to 4 flashlights (I have 2 Fenix L2D's usually), and I can move the wood bars up or down to aim the light as needed. It's a kluge, but works fine and the lights come on or off fast.
