Front be-seen light recommendations?
My dealextreme-sourced white LED flashlight has met an unfortunate end at the hands of my 3 year old. It had terrible battery life (li-ion CR123A) anyway, and its strobe pattern was crazy fast so I ran it on "SOS' mode.
I'm in the market for a front white blinking LED, basically for daytime "look at me!" use. At the time being I'm not doing any nighttime riding so I don't need a headlight system. I've got twin Superflash on the seatstays of my recumbent so I'm covered for rear lighting.
Any suggestions? My criteria are: self-contained (i.e. no battery packs), sensible flash pattern, under $50. Right now my top picks are the Planet Bike 1 or 2 watt Blaze. I have some Twofish blocks on hand so it doesn't have to be a bike-specific light. Thanks!

Terralux 220 Lightstar. $28 on Amazon. End of story unless you're going Magicshine for more.
EDIT - Woops - didn't see that you only wanted a "to-be-seen" light. The rec I gave is for a to-see light.

My backup is a Romisen (sp?) flashlight (a Q5 I think). That's the least I'd consider, those cheezy $10 LED "bike lights" aren't worth the money (my Romisen only cost me $15). A P7 is the way to go. Until next year when they come out with something way better.

How about 2 Knog Frog lights? one white, one red?
I velcro a photon 3 microlight on my brake levers but the knogs are much cleaner looking.
I use the slow strobe pattern.
