Garmin 705 City Nav - download nightmare
Hello -
I bought a 705. Then, I bought the CityNav from the Garmin online store as a download - then I had to buy an SD card and update the software from 3.0 to 3.1 (on a neighbour's PC) then from 3.1 to 3.2 on my MAC - the device was challenge as it would not autorestart as had been promised.
Then I downloaded the City Navigator to the SD card and now the maps do not appear in the map pain under menu on the 705. Garmin says I should but another NEW SD card and try again.
This is very frustrating for me because Garmin (and my desire for silly gadgets) has destroyed the pure joy of riding my bike and made me more of a computer dork than I was earlier. The whole point of the bike was to get outside and be healthier.
Damn.
OH _ anyone with a similar problem and a suggestion?
And, = I cannot figure out how the public domain maps work (like OSM)
