Battery Powered iPhone Charger

Has anyone had any luck with a battery powered iPhone charger? I went on Amazon and bought a small charger which runs on AA batteries:

I thought it was a good idea. When I donít have an outlet for charging I could stop by a store and pick up a couple of AA batteries and charge my iPhone over night. There was only one problem. It didnít work. For my iPhone 3GS, I put in brand new batteries and it would charge for about 10 minutes but that is about it. Iíve done some more searching and it looks like some of the other chargers run off of lithium batteries. (But even with these Iím not sure that they would charge an iPhone.)

Anyone else found a solution (other than front hub/dynamo).

Thanks, Scott
