...6,500 candlepower flashlight; runs up to 1 hour with two 3-volt lithium batteries

That light only puts out 100 lumens, and it can only manage to do that for one hour. And even that is using expensive lithium cells! I've a 2AA LED light that cost less and can run brighter and longer using cheap alkalines. This medium priced LED light will put the same brightness of light for six hours - six times as long - using exactly the same lithium cells -

Here is one small enough for a bicycle yet still bright enough to allow you to see: http://www.amazon.com/Gerber-22-8008...058234&sr=1-58

From the Manufacturer

The Gerber 22-80086 RX350 Xenon Flashlight is a blindingly bright tactical flashlight with a high output Xenon lamp, anodized aircraft aluminum body, rear switch actuation, and custom faceted spot to flood reflector with an effective distance of 225 feet. Uses a single CR123 battery; weighs 2.9 ounces; black.
Gosh - the manufacturer says that the light is "blindingly bright!" It must be good! Hmm. However, the output is only a pathetic 30 Lumens. Compared to 80L from some single AAA keychain lights... Well, I suppose you could blind somebody with it if you jabbed them in the eye...

He's a troll, he makes no sense when he talks about lights, just his post history. (grabs popcorn as I await his long replies)

Why would anyone want to troll about the virtues of Xenon bulbs??? Ultra-weird!

There are 500-lumen Xenon flashlights, but they require protected 18650 Lithium batteries and the runtime is 70 minutes or less. The thing people do not understand about Xenon bulbs, though, is the human eye is more attuned to the 6000K color temperature of the light, so Xenon lights do not need to be very powerful to allow the user to see. 80-lumens Xenon flashlights can easily penetrate fog, steam, dust, and that stuff and because the human eye naturally sees blue light as brighter than normal, 80 lumens from a Xenon bulb can appear much brighter than it really is.

My Canadian friend says his hometown of Amhurst, Nova Scotia has LED street lights. He says they aren't anywhere near as bright as the Metal Halide ones and that the glare is ungodly. If you drop a quarter under an LED street light, you won't be able to find it. He says all LED lights have problems with excessive glare.

Read at your own risk- this might be what mrbubbles was talking about concerning the post history. I try to stay away from threads where this person is heavily involved...

That's a pretty good light, but again, runtime becomes an issue, and I have questions about its brightness vs a comparable Xenon headlamp.

Yes, but that's because you don't know anything. In the other thread you've been trolling you showed the superiority of Xenon lights by recommending a Streamlight that has 1/6 the runtime of a modern LED at the same brightness!

Yeah, he just has to pop his ugly head into every thread about lights and destroys it with his idiotic spew. I'd vote for banning him actually. Add him to the Ignore List and avoid.
