Computer & heart rate monitor in one
I am looking for a cycling computer and heart rate monitor in one. Has any one
have any experience with a Cateye V3 or VDO Z2? Please tell what you think

Will you never want to use a heart rate monitor off the bike? Never? Personally, I like having the flexibility of purposed units and I am a cheapskate by necessity so I have a Timex heart-rate monitor and a Cateye Astrale 8 computer. To answer your question, however, its hard to go wrong with anything made by Cateye.

I've used a Blackburn Neuro, but I'd switch to a Cateye V3 if I did it again.
But, I also see the advantages of having a HRM that I could use off the bike, so I'd think of a basic Polar unit or something like that.

I have the cat eye on my mountain bike and I hate it. The strap sucks and the menu is hard to get thru. I don't even use the heart rate montor anymore. I put a cheap $40 computer on my road bike and use a polar RS 400 heart rate monitor. I also use the heart rate monitor when I do spin classes and it has a nice bike mount also.

Garmin Forerunner 305 Google it. I've been using one for years for running and biking. It can download data to Garmin connect for free or use a site like Training Peaks for more options. There about 150.00 and it does it all. HR with all the HR zones and all the cycling data. You will need a cadence pick up thats extra but its a good unit for not to much money.
