Ridebright.org

Saw an advert for this when watching Milan -San Remo on Universal TV. It's not a product, just a message to maximize your visibility on the roads. I adhere to the same principal and use my light on flash mode to help "be seen" during daylight. :thumb:

Ridebright.org is a project of professional triathlete Jordan Rapp and High Gear Films, a premiere label in filmmaking for endurance sports. Following a near death collision with a car while training on his bike in March 2010, Jordan got back on his bike, but decided he needed to make some changes to make himself safer, primarily by making himself more visible to drivers.

Boo for sites that have absolutely no content if you're not running javascript. Lazy web developer. Also boo for making you watch a video to tell what they're doing.

Also, the message is incredibly muddled. I can't tell if they were trying to sell something, or promote visibility in general. Also, the fact that they clearly had to doctor the video of the lamp in order to make it visible kind of makes it obvious that the light still isn't doing all that much. He's talking about wearing "high powered" 105 lumen lights. For daytime visibility, IMO 250 or so would be minimum, I'd want 500.

But in my experience he'd be better off ditching his team jersey and wearing something ANSI yellow instead of strapping a crappy little light on his helmet, especially since it looks like all the lights he has on in that video point forwards, and it looks like the accident he had he got hit from behind.

I just viewed the video and agree pretty much with your statement. I run the Dinotte R 140 lum on the back and the 140 A lum on the front and I still think I could be safer if I had more. I might even start using the Dinotte 200 on my helmet in the day time. The problem that I have is the ever changing improvements that light manufactures are putting on the market I can't keep up up grading.

That's a nice fantasy. Don't count on it. You need enough lighting that they have no excuse for not seeing you. They still may not see you.
