Mi.Newt 250 - Seems plenty on mountain, outrunning it on road. Suggestions?

Just like the title says. I want to try mounting the Mi.Newt 250 on my helmet for road much like I do for mountain, and then add another light to my road handlebars. Would you recommend adding another Mi.Newt 250 totalling 500 lumens, or is there another $100-$125 light that would be a good compliment to the Mi.Newt 250?

I'm no expert (and others feel free to correct me), but for the stated budget... Wouldn't a MS 900 or Gemini Titan not work? Or if the OP has an aversion to cables and remote battery packs, there should be a number of P7/XP-G/whatever that could work.

I dont understand any of that.

Is that Gemini actually 900 lumens? Seems like pennies on the dollar compared to other high power lights from big name manufacturers. Is it like the Magic Shine products where what you actually get is vastly less than what is advertised? I have a friend with a 5 or 600 lumen Magic Shine that isn't as bright as my 250 lumen Nightrider.

The MS 900 that he mentions is a MagicShine 900 lumen (the original base unit). It's a LOT brighter than the 200 lumen Dinotte I used to have. The P7 flashlight that I use as a backup is brighter than the Dinotte too though not as bright as the MS. I'd guess that the MS 900 is actually about 450 lumens. It's a hell of a good deal for a 450 lumen light too, if you just ignore the fact that they say it's 900.

The MiNewt 250 is a great light, but I think it's too heavy for a helmet mount.
Let us know how it works out for you.

Cheers

I use it all the time as a helmet mount. I've never even noticed it there. ??
