Questions about the new Magicshine batteries.

Questions about the new Magicshine batteries.
I'm ASSuming the answers would be yes to both questions, but then I did the same when I figured the original battery would work without problems too.
1) Will the new battery work with the charger that came with the series 1 battery?
2) Is the new battery water resistant enough to use in the rain without damaging it?
I looked on the Geomangear website, on the battery and in the envelope the new battery came with and didn't mention either question, but I figure I'm not going to be the only one with these questions. Even if it looks like I'm the first to ask them here.

I've been charging mine with the old charger although the new lightset I bought came with a charger. The charger in the new lightset looks identical to the same charger as the old ones with the same ratings.
Waterproof? Dunno yet. Still field testing mine and knocking on wood.

The question about the charger came up earlier in this thread. Geomangear posted that it is OK to use the original charger with the new battery.
I haven't seen an answer about water tightness.

I just got my replacement battery today.
I'd REALLY want to see what GeoManGear had to say about waterproofness. I don't want to assume it is and wreck it, but I also would hate to go to a ton of trouble of wrapping the thing in plastic bags/etc like I did with the original if it's not needed, since that's ugly and a pain in the butt.
It kind of LOOKS waterproof but there's no way to really tell.

The reasons, vibration, heat etc. In theory, you might be able to use the battery while it is held under water. But if the cord is wiggled, or if you tap on the battery - things could change.
In my experience- after disassembling a pack - I can see that being water proof is not the issue. If any moisture at all enters the pack - the terminals and the PCB board become corroded. This happened to my "waterproof" Dinotee pack.
The weak spot is where the power cable enters the pack. However, during use, if any heat develops - one could assume that the seams of the pack will not be perfect as well. After all- in theory - these packs need a vent to expand and contract during charge as well discharging.
