Light comparision
I thought this might be of use to some peeps who are undesided what lights to buy.
Near the bottom of Here you will find a drop down list to select 3 lights to compare along with their costs. While it is not comprehensive it gives an indication of how good they are in the dark which I have never seen before. Enjoy and happy cycling in he dark. |

And what about some practical information to put things in perspective? In an automobile the reach of the low beams is typically 45m because that's the normal braking distance (including reaction time) for a car traveling at 60 km/h. So what's the practical benifit of having a bicycle light with a reach of 60m and without a beam cutoff to avoid blinding oncoming traffic? Off road it's usefulness would be questionable, in the city it's just dangerous. |
There are some great reviews at MTBR. It has Backyard light beamshot comparisons as well as Trail beamshots.
Check out the Night Riding forum as well. |
Has anyone come across a headlight evaluation for daytime conspicuousness?
