I won a major award!
And it didn't come in a big wooden crate marked fragile either. I got an email last week letting me know I'd won a Light and Motion Vis 360 from a contest I didn't really remember entering. But they sent me out the light after I gave them my address, and I'm impressed after my initial use. The 110 (claimed) lumen beam is brighter than the 185 (claimed) lumens of my old Fenix LD2 that I used for a comparison, but not quite as bright as the (claimed) 220 lumens of the Teralux I'd been using as a helmet light. I did get to try out the different combinations of lights on a dark portion of the bike path I regularly ride on during that ride, and found the Vis 360 had a good balance of flood and throw while providing enough lighting to look into some of the corners on the path that aren't illuminated by the magicshine on the handlebars. I didn't compare their rear blinky to the PBSF I've used for years, but figure that adding another rear blinky in a higher location has got to be good. The amber side lights may or may not be of value, I was glad to avoid anything close to an surprise encounter from the side on that trip. The battery life was nowhere near the specified 2 1/2 hours on high after a full charge; the low charge indicator was on when I got home after about 45 minutes of use and I hope that improves after a few cycles. The battery charges in 5 hours with a mini USB cable, and charging this battery is going to be easier than keeping the magicshine charged or dealing with the AA NiMHs I used in the past. :thumb:
