Thinking about a Garmin 200

I've got to the point that tracking rides with a smart phone just is not working. Thinking about a Garmin 200 partly due to cost and partly due to not interested in heart rate or cadence so can't see spending $100 more. I'm wondering about recharge time. How fast does it recharge when plugged in to AC?

If it's anything like the 500 then recharge time doesn't even matter. I've been on 4 hour rides and when I get home the battery is still 90%. I've been on 12 hour rides and while I forget how low the charge got, it wasn't anywhere close to running out. But usually an hour or less plugged in is enough to top it off back to 100%.

That's for the 500, that is. I can't imagine the 200 is much different.

From completely dead recharge time is about two hours.

The 500 charges at around 1%/minute.
Quite important for rides longer than 15hrs.

garmin has a $30 rebate going on now for the Edge 200.

I have one...its a good little system...I use it to load new routes as well as time and distance and spped.

I added a cheap HRM for $30 and have all I need right now.

On first use I found the battery life longer than advertised but sadly shorter than needed due to forgetting my charger. I was aware of the rebate, part of the reason I considered this model. Thanks for all your input.

Thinking about the Garmin 200 as well. I have a few questions though, for those who have used one. What data can you display in real time while riding? Like current speed, trip distance, etc? How many of these can you display at once? I don't like scrolling through a list to see one piece of data at a time while riding. Also, can I input my current mileage so I don't have to start from 0 miles on the odometer? That isn't terribly important, but it would be nice.

U have speed, distance and time on one screen along with one other data point. I have average speed as the fourth data point. I believe uncan choose to change that last one to other options but I don't recall which.

I don't think you can put in current mileage but I may not be right on this.

Thanks for the info. Too late though, I already ordered it. ;-)
