DiNotte repair?
http://imageshack.us/a/img41/6946/dinotte.jpg
Sorry in advance for the terrible photo. But as you can sort of see, the wire pulled out from the little grommet on my front light. It still works perfect, but it seems like it could now yank out pretty easily. Has anyone tried to open up the back of their DiNotte light? If so, please tell me about it. FYI, my light is way out of warranty and I’d rather not spend any money on a repair. Thanks! |
My light did that after 3.5 years of daily use. Also the clip to the battery was getting wornout.
Repair is a $15 charge. But guess what? They sent me a Brand New Light for the $15. |
The black Plate unscrew? [I dont own one] if so ,
once the wire extra insulation is back , make a strain relief behind the back plate. so it won't pull through again.. [ if you don't understand that , go with the send it back suggestion.] |
I'd contact DiNotte first. They have excellent customer service.

But, I've also opened them up without issue. (I swapped lenses between a long cord and short cord model.) You could open it up, push the wire back in, apply a blob of silicone seal, and close it back up. |
I've opened mine up as well. They are easy to open and easy to reassemble.

This. I've never actually been charged for a repair, and every time I've sent one back, I've gotten a brand new light in return.
