Soubitez back light doesn't work with Dynohub
I have an F frame Moulton with a front Dynohub, a Sturmey Archer front light and a Soubitez at the back. The front light works but the back doesn't.
The Soubitez has a plastic body with a metal mount and a hole underneath big enough for a single wire, although there are 2 wires running from the front light to the back. I think the metal mount is meant to earth the light to the frame whereas the front seems to lack an earth. I presume the original SA back light had terminals for both wires and that as the Soubitez only has a hole for a single wire, the 'spare' wire was connected via the mount. My questions: Should this Soubitez work, and that it doesn't mean that it is faulty? Or is it incompatible with the Dynohub? Thanks! I've never used a generator before. Dawes-man |
it should work. Bulb burned out?

I looked at the bulb and the filament looks okay but I will get another and see. |
you might want to check the continuity of the wires, particularly the ground wire. Over time, corrosion will make those contacts go bad. Dielectric grease will help once you clean them.

It would help if I knew what the Dynohub-type wire was called. Anyone know? |
