Headlight Mount Problem When Wet.......
 

I have the DX version of the LockBlok flashlight holder. It seems to work well. However, riding in the rain becomes a problem. The holder doesn't stay put & slides around on the handlebars. Any ideas to help out? thanx

If you are mounting to bare metal, maybe use a bit of electrical tape to act as a friction agent?

If you have an old tube lying around, you can try cutting
a small piece to go between the bars and the mount.

I use a piece of rim tape to give the rubber something to bite on.

Hockey stick tape has lots of friction on its outer surface its better then black electrical tape.

Also known as Friction Tape and Grip Tape.

It was also the original ELECTRICIANS tape (not electrical tape) through most of the last century, until sometime in the 1960 era I believe when 3M introduced the vinyl electrical tape we know today.Vinyl tape doesn't work as well on the handlebars in my experience.

It is a CLOTH tape ( I've only seen it in a black color ) that is TACKY ON BOTH SIDES ( a bit stronger tack than a Post It note ).

You can find it at any big box home improvement store in the same general area as the vinyl electrical tape, for a very reasonable price ( approx. $1.50 a roll last I bought some... admittedly many years ago ).

The stuff they sell in the big sports goods store is basically the same but premium priced (and possibly in assorted colors).

Also: Even more expensive (much higher tech) is self vulcanizing sealing tape.

This is a very thin EXTREMELY flexible and stretchable SILICONE RUBBER tape (visualize a LiveStrong rubber bracelet flattened into a thin ribbon and wound onto a roll) that is not really tacky at all (you'll know it's the right stuff if it has a transparent plastic backing that you must peel off prior to installation.
I have personally only seen it in an orange color. There may be more color choices now.

This tape is also in the same section of the store as the electrical tape and friction tape.

I learned all of that when I was just seven from controlling the puck on the ice GOAL:thumb::p
