Tethers for your electronics
I was out for a long ride the other day and out of fatigue and inattention, I clumsily knocked my garmin 90 degrees and just barely caught it as it came out of the mount. This got me thinking. Has anyone here tethered any equipment to their bike? I was searching for a small, maybe 1/4" adhesive disk with wire tether that could be looped around the stem. I have had no luck in that regard and I might dummy up a testing unit using a small nut glued to the back, with a corresponding bolt drilled for safety wire that would screw into the nut attached to the garmin. Not really sure. I really can't afford to lose things.
I tried searching. |

Not sure which Garmin you have, but the Edge 510 has a tether that comes with it. Here's what mine looks like:

Yes, I make my tether out of safety wire (the kind you safety wire bolts on race cars and motorcycles), and put it in surgical tubing. My phone case can come completely out of the mount now but will not hit the pavement. Same thing for my GoPro.
