Fear of Wireless

I am in the need of a new computer for my road bike. In the past I have used a Sigma 1609 BC wired cadence computer and have very few complaints. Now that I have a new bike, I want to get another computer and keep the old one on my original bike (keeping it as a beater/loaner). I would like to go wireless to keep everything clean looking, but for pretty much every setup, I see at least a handful of reviews that speak of intermittent connectivity issues. I thought about GPS (Garmin 200), but I feel like the non-GPS computers would be a little more precise plus I need the cadence function. Are the non-GPS wireless models really reliable? I use a headlight for some rides, I know this can cause interference. I also ride with other people periodically so interference with other computers is a concern. I don't want to constantly be worried about if the computer is going to read correctly or if it is going to pair with the sensors or even lose connection, I'd rather just ride and have the info available every time when i need it. Anyone have any insight or product recommendations, or should I stick with wired? Thanks!

Wireless computers that use ANT+ are essentially immune to interference and cross talk with other riders. Most of these are GPS based but there are a number of non-GPS cyclometers that use ANT+. GPS computers are generally sufficiently accurate, but those that include a wheel sensor (like all Garmin Edge units except the 200) are more accurate.

Stick with wired.

You will have less problems.
