Mounting Otterbox Question

Finally in the 21st Century. My son gave me an Otterbox for my iphone. I used the belt clip on my shorts but it feels uncomfortable. I don't have jerseys that have pockets. I could buy something to put the phone in that hooks/straps to the bike but I am just a poor retiree on a pension. I decided to cable-tie the carrier to the top tube. I solicit your constructive criticism. A picture showing the box cable-tied.

Suggest mounting it to the stem instead for better visibility. Perspnally I removed the belt clamp, drilled a couple holes and mounted it over the stem using a HED Lolipop normally used for a bottle cage. But thats probably more money than you want to spend so tie wraps would probably work for you there too.

I have used the slip grip mount myself and love it.

It is made for the otterbox and can be removed and installed easily.

I understand you are on a fixed income however this is really a cheep option that will last for years.

Hope this helps.

The slipgrip works but I recommend some additional rubber bands to help keep it from popping out when you hit a pot hole or something. Also get the 1.5" version too. Not many other options for the Otterbox as far as after market mounts. If you wanna stick with the Otterbox, then keep on experimenting with you home brew version.
