I Phone as a GPS
I have been using Mapmyride on my Iphone 4S, I will be upgrading soon and was wondering if I continue to use my current 4S without data what I would loose in features. I would like to do this to protect the new phone. I will wait untill the new I phone comes out. has anyone done this

If you mean physically protect the phone, there are any number of cases that will do that. I have a ruggedized case that I put my quadlock piece on and it sits on my stem. Works great and if it ever fell off or I crashed, it would be very well protected. J. |

You'll likely lose the mapping features since that comes over the network. It will keep all your gps and route data and it should upload just fine - and look fine on the map when it's on line. Just no map while riding unless you get an app that has downloaded maps. Navionics or some of those would have no need for a network.
