Dynamo lighting front mounting ideas?
I have an electra townie 21d. I'm looking into adding dynamo lighting. I don't have a front light picked out yet. I also have a sunlite front rack that mounts to my brake studs/fork crown that I'd like to use. Like this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002MKHR6G
My front fork is has a suspension and there are no midfork mounting holes. I don't want to mount anything midfork. Is it possible to mount through the hole on the front of the rack platform or on a brake stud so I could still use the rack? Or is there an extension long enough to mount on the fork crown, but extend long enough to shine over the rack if not being used? I should have no problems with my rear rack and light. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |
If u use a B+m Light, they supply a bracket.Do not mount the light upside down, even if its really convenient:),the beam pattern won`t work.
Also,a few lights now have the charging socket, part of the way along the light bracket, for the phone etc. |
I would probably mount it mid-fork. Trying to deal with that rack is not going to work. If the bike has quick releases, you could mount it using one of the quick release extensions, like the one from Problem Solvers. Paul has a light mount "Gino light mount" that goes on the fork eyelet, and also one that fits on the stem cap
