Replacement O rings?
 

Long story short, I received a MS clone today and the box did not have the O rings. Rather than dealing with customer service in Hong Kong, are there any sources Stateside? I also have an Ace Hardware just down the road- if I knew what sizes these are supposed to be (no manual of any kind included in the package), I'd go ask them if they had any in stock.

Oh, yeah, plugged battery into light, hit the switch, and nothing happened. I'm hoping the battery was just fully drained and that I don't have a faulty battery or light.

Found the link to the product and it just states that it should come with "2 fixed rings". As it came with a head strap, I imagine that there should be 2 different sized O rings- 1 bar, 1 head.

Ace has All sizes of O rings. Can you ride your bike to one and take the light with you.

Also, I let it charge for a bit and there is sufficient to power on. I don't think I can ever see using the strobe and even the lowest setting is quite visible during the day. I placed the unit on my trash by the garage and walked to the end of the drive and viewed all 4 modes- I can still see the light when I blink my eyes 5 minutes later.

I bought two for the Day Safety Strobe..

Yep. Motor vehicle headlight output and distribution pattern is regulated by law.

If you read the law carefully, while one strobe might be legal (the strobes on motorcycles are not actually strobes, the are modulators), two are probably not. They can be mistaken for the pattern used by some emergency vehicles. It all depends on where you are.

When my daughter was managing a bicycle delivery company she started using them on several of the bikes. The police not only stated that they liked seeing their use but recommended that the other bike delivery companies do the same (in that city the bike delivery companies had very good relations with the police and the strobes let them know, from a distance, who the bike delivery people were for things like "otherwise illegal operation" and riding in pedestrian only areas; things that they allowed "professionals" to do but did not allow for casual riders).

That being said, I have never had any trouble, and a few compliments, from LEOs' about having a single magic-shine clone strobe on my bike. However, I have never tried two. Here in China, a fair percentage of cars and buses don't use headlights at all. The scooters seldom use them, and other than myself, and the bike club, headlights on bicycles are almost never seen.

Back to the topic at hand, I agree, try a hardware store.

Ace didn't have the size I needed, so I'm having to improvise. First I tried a rubber band (not beefy enough), then I tried one of my daughter's pony tail holder widgets (better, but too loose), and finally put a zip tie on it. Hopefully I can make do with using zip ties until I can get an O-ring.

Side note: I was wanting to mount the battery under the stem, but that did not work out. Then I tried under the top tube, but it would have interfered with my control cables (brake and both shift cables are routed on top of the tube). Luckily, I managed to fit it behind the head tube.

Home Depot also sells O-rings.
