basta dynamo bulb replacement

I have a Basta ellipsoid halogen dynamo which suddenly stopped producing light. Naturally, I suspect the bulb has burned out. However, I cannot seem to open up the casing so I can get to the bulb. There is a little icon on the casing which implies "push and twist", but I cannot make it work. Is there some trick I am missing?

Does anyone know of a shop in the Richmond/Kingston (London) area who might know about replacing a dynamo light bulb?

My guess its a [Screw-in , or a Bayonet bulb , or more likely a] flange with a notch in it.

My old Union Halogen headlight the bulb was fitted from the back
my newer Schmidt E6 the reflector unscrewed, and still you had the glass in a position
to be possibly untouched installing it. both flange type bulbs..

headlights + taillights =3w

if there is a taillight wired to the dynamo it will be 0.6w. the headlight 2.4w to still = a 3w load.

No taillight , the headlight is 3w. halogen bulbs should not be touched with your fingers
and need be oil free on the glass .. or they burn out early.

Isn't there an FW Evans shop, still in London,(?) I went there in 1988 .. :50:

I was also trying to force it when it was mounted on the bike, with no luck. It turns out that you have to unscrew the housing from the bicycle, and then you can twist the casing and open the lamp to replace the bulb. Very easy to do.
