Garmin Speed/cadence and ANT+ key not communicating...

Garmin Speed/cadence and ANT+ key not communicating...
I've ordered the above and have installed both. The GSC 10 is fitted to my bike and working properly. The software for the ANT+ key seems to also be installed; however, the speed/cadence device is not found.
On my dashboard (Garmin), when I search for devices, none are found. I'm given two options: 1) install USB driver software (done) or 2) make sure Windows Media Player app is up to date (it is).
I don't understand why the cadence sensor device is not being found. Any help would be appreciated.
