I went out for a short ride tonight, to the pharmacy. I noticed as I was parking n' locking my bike. That the silver part of the light was hot after only a few minutes. Has anyone experienced this before?

It's normal for it to get warm, but can't say if yours got warmer than normal. High power LEDs generate considerable heat and lose brightness as they get hot so headlights incorporate heat sinks to help keep the temperature down. The finned aluminum part of the light is the heat sink so it will get warm.

Hmmm......I hope your right?

How fast were you going? You need airflow to carry away the heat.

We all need to condition ourselves to ride faster and faster so that the lights don't burn out due to excessive heat. Tell that to your significant other. Faster means an upgrade to a better bike with better wheels.
