i was searching around for some horn really Loud and light and not very expensive for my bike
i found many people talking about the Airzound

but it's the first time to meet it
i found many kinds of it on amazon , is there is many kinds of it ?
what they are and that is the deference ?

also, what is your experience with it ?
how long it stands per day in a contuse usage in a very crowded day
and how long it last " the life of it after some time "
and do you recommend it ?

Looks like the company Delta Cycles put out a newer model. I had the one prior to the latest. They both are advertised as 115db. Mine worked great and was pretty easy to refill. I used a pump and now-a-days you could use air cartridges to refill it. I had mine on an e-bike that I had. It has since been stolen, the bike that is. My impressions on it was that it worked great. The one advice I'd give on it was make sure you mount the horn in a good spot where it would be protected. Mine never broke, but I didn't think it was that "fortified" either.

alternatively there is a hand held 1 piece the horn Directly on the bottle one..

For a bigger air tank, people have substituted a 2 liter soda bottle on the hose attached bike one.

Airzound Horn.

A friend had one. The plastic tank did not hold up. I use a boat horn I got form Academy. Dogs usually run from it.

Has the sound been improved? I ask because when I bought one some 6-7 years ago, the sound was very high pitched, not like a car horn at all. Today someone showed me his Airzound, it was much louder and really like a truck horn! People from a block away probably thought it was a big truck. I really like it. Am thinking of getting a new one, but wonder if all those on the market are the same or different.

Mine is fairly old (around 4.5 years) but it works great! Temperature has an impact on the sound as the cold weather can affect the air pressure. It has literally saved my life twice - cars not seeing me and slamming on their brakes at the last second due to the sound. I top it off every ride when I check my tires. Volume can be set by a small dial on the horn portion. I've never run out of air on a ride, but I use my Spurcycle bell 95% of the time. The horn is only for cars in situations where they don't see me, otherwise the bell works fine and it nicer, too.

Check the schrader valve under the actuator is screwed in properly, they can leak. A full fill should maybe give you a full 1-2 minutes of tooting when pumped up. Note you will need a high pressure pump to do this. Maximum pressure is 100PSI. I use a two stage pump, start the fill on low pressure high volume, then switch to high pressure to finish the fill. It's as hard to pump as doing a HP tyre on a road bike.

For entertainment find an empty tunnel and have a go at tooting in one end, awesome listening to the echoes. Another source of entertainment (admittedly much harder now the craze has died down) is scaring the pants off Pokemon Go players, I had hours of fun for a while.

I bought two of them. The first one worked fine but the cheap plastic mount soon broke. I was able to zip tie it in place and use it for about two years. The horn should not lose pressure even over a many day period unless you use it. There were occasions when I needed it but the pressure was too low to be useful as a warning. You have to remember to keep it pumped up most of the way to get a loud sound. The second one never worked from the get-go. It didn't produce much sound and the adjustment at the valve didn't make much difference. Both are in my junk bike parts box. Considering the $26-$40 price I paid and see it advertised for I would rate it unacceptable. I now use an electronic horn which costs under $10 and is loud enough for me. Battery life (2 AAA batteries) is about a year. $9 postpaid from a US seller Cycling Horns Electronic Bike Bicycle Handlebar Ring Ultra Loud Alarm Bell XP | eBay or $5 postpaid from Malaysia Cycling Horns Electronic Bike Bicycle Handlebar Ring Ultra Loud Alarm Bell JL | eBay with ~10-14 day delivery time but occasionally longer.

Everyone, please note that this is a 2014 thread that I revived. The OP may not be around any more, but I found this thread and wanted to ask the question in the post #6 above. Does anyone know if the currently sold ones have improved the sound from earlier ones?

P.S. The one I had 6+ years ago sounded like the one in the following video. I didn't like it because it didn't sound like a vehicle horn. But the one I saw today sounded like a big truck, was not like this one.

Being a former owner of an AirZound I'm kinda familar with what is expected of a bike horn. On one ride once a rider had a horn that I was impressed by. BTW I didn't have my AirZound at the time cause it was long dead and buried. Anyways I put this on the back burner as a next horn on my list. It seemed alot more durable and had a better life span in between charges. It's was the Hornit.

I've had a few now. All mine have sounded the same but they can be prone to the innards of the valve rusting. If you don't get that removed before it's really stuck then it's a hell of a job to fix.

As for what I think of it, it has probably saved my life 3 times now...
