Question Cheaper alternatives to Camsports-style micro-cameras?

Hello,

Title says it all: I'm looking for pen-style micro-cameras like those from Camsports that I could attach with an arm-band and trigger real fast to start recording:

I don't need HD audio/video, just Internet-grade quality.

For that type of camera, are there good, cheaper alternatives to Camsports?

Thank you.

IDK the French distributors Ive never heard of the Brand .. there are similar micro SD card recording kinds , Asia sells a lot of electronics

yours may be rebranded as something else depending on what the importers brand is.

Maybe someone knows a HongKong Seller that will ship to you.

I have considered going to the used electronics store and getting a couple of used, out of date phones. I only want the camera function so out of date and obsolete for phone use does not matter.

Not bad, but I want something compact and easy to start without fumbling with the device.

Looks like there's no good, sub-€$200 alternative to the usual suspects (GoPro, Contour, etc.).

The Veho cameras don't seem very good.

Edit: Apparently, cameras from Chilly Technology look better.

It's not the bullet style that you asked for, but the SJ1000 is $70 US and is pretty decently reviewed.

Take a look at the Mobius ActionCam.

I bought a used gen1 Contour Roam last spring for 60 bucks. it works great for me. Before that I had a cheap used NXG (I think) that worked okay but not HD. Before that I tried old cell phone and the mounting was problematic, plus it had the wiggly playback of early cellphone cameras. Although I may resurrect the cellphone for rear coverage.

The SJ4000 is another option, but it doesn't seem to be much different, except it has a wider lens and looks like a GoPro.

I'm probably going to pick up one of these and use it as a rear facing camera. I have two RD32IIs but I've stopped using them as they don't have replaceable batteries and charging them every day is a pain in the butt.

I've seen the Contour (Roam II?) below USD 100 at a couple of internet vendors this week. $73 at REI.

I'm kind of leaning towards an SJ4000 at the moment. Viewing Techmoan's raw video, it was easy to read the license plates even of cars going the opposite way at speed. I never saw that in my own tests with any camera, even the GoPro (Hero3 White)

Amazon.com: Garmin Virb Action Camera: GPS & Navigation

Garmin virb 108 USD. Big switch on the side so there is no fiddling with anything. However it is not "instant" recording. It does take a few second to get going.
