Hedlamp/Helmet Light
I was thinking about getting headlamps for the family this Christmas so we can go XC skiing more often. I might just get relatively simple petzles or whatever for the kids, but for my wife and I I might actually invest a few $$ and get something that actually lights the trail. I was also hoping to find some that can be used with a headlamp strap and with a helmet mount for biking, as well as being bright enough for off road night riding when spring rolls around.
Is there any such thing? A head lamp that also mounts on a helmet and is bright enough for off roading? |
I suppose I could mention a price range. I would like to keep the cost between $200 and $300 per unit. I found one Petzl light (one of only two that come up when you click on 'mountain biking') but it is closer to $500 for one.
Any suggestions? This can't be that strange a request. |
The Princeton Tec EOS headlamp seems to get good reviews and is reasonably priced.
EOS Bike | Princeton Tec I use a Light & Motion Vis 360, which is excellent for cycling but probably not ideal for XC skiing. I doubt if you would need a high-power taillight for that! |

No need to spend more than $100.00. Check out some stuff from REI.

went XC skiing w a buddy long time ago and had an epic fail. we were just using handheld flashlights, but regardless, buddy wiped out going down a bumpy slope and crashed breaking a ski tip. I had tape for some reason and taped it up with the tip under the rest of the ski and we limped back to the car. needless to say we never skied at night again
