Stem mounted headlight?
 

I was looking for a headlight recently and realized that there is no single steam mount headlight. I have an iPhone 5 mounted on one side of the road handlebar and Forerunner 310XT - on the other. Ideally I would like to mount a headlight under the steam, but nobody seems to produce it. The place is ideal because, unlike a smartphone or a bike computer, headlight does not require attention. Why then all headlights are mounted on top?

Mounting it on steam would sure get rid of any shock/vibration issues - just don't know how to go about it --- or generate enough steam to hold it up............

I think you're interested in a "stem" mounted headlight. Unfortunately I don't know of any to suggest.

Some people do attach a bar adapter to the stem, and then mount lights to the bar adapter (example here). There are also adapters that attach to handlebars that give extra room to attach lights and other accessories (example here).

You can get a gizmo like this from topeak,Topeak® Cycling Accessories ? Products - BarXtender?. Minoura makes something similar.
