Renting Bikes in France w/Kid Trailer

Next year we are taking my parents on a barge tour in France. Because we are all seasoned bike tourers of course biking will be a main componan. The hitch comes because we have our toddler with us. Does anyone know if rental bikes in France can accomodate Burley style trailer, or is it easy to rent trailers?

Thanks
S

Which kind of hitch do you have? If it's the big plastic one that wedges in between the stays, the only problem would be the rack, possibly. If you have the skewer kind, you'll need to make sure the hub has a hollow spindle.

Where are you flying into?

Most importantly, out of curiousity, are you renting a barge or booking a room on one? I'm curious because I've been thinking about doing the same thing, either in France or on the Göta Canal in Sweden.
