GERMANY: Routes from Frankfurt Airport
Hi,
I'm a Canadian cyclist and I'll be arriving in Frankfurt in May. I usually cycle from the airport. I'll be heading to Wurzburg. The suggested route is north from the airport to the Main Radweg, but that is out of my way and seems to go right through a heavily industrialized part of Frankfurt, which appears to be a very large city.
On Google maps it shows that if instead I head east to Hainsburg (also on the Main) I can avoid that and save a lot of time. The only thing is, is there a safe, quiet and hopefully car-free route from the airport to Hainsburg?
I have also observed that there seems to be a number of forests on the way? Are there any campgrounds?

You gonna eat that?
I've been out to Wurzburg a couple times; it's beautiful country. I can't really advise about the route though; we stuck to the main roads. One possibility to look into is to take the train part of the way until you get out of the congested city area.

The Main River bike path is a 5 minute ride north from the airport, and you don't have to go through any industrial area to get there. Then just follow the Main River Bike path all the way to Wurzburg.
And also, Frankfurt is a tiny city as cities go, and the river bike path is completely car free. No reason at all to avoid Frankfurt or the Main River bike path.
I guess I'm posting this too late to help you, but hopefully it will help someone else one day.
