Any thoughts - good or bad - or things I should know before I make any decisions?
Thanks
The only trike I can almost afford is the Sunseeker Eco-Tad. Less than any used trikes I see online. I have a penchant for buying the least expensive option and being disappointed with my purchase. The closest dealer with one in stock is 2-1/2 hours away, so no hope of test ride.
Is the Eco-Tad a reasonable option, or should I opt for an upright trike which I can get for a tenth of the price of the Eco Tad?
I really miss riding.
Thanks for your input.

All my life riding 50 plus years I finally got a Catrike to avoid at least the fall over crash or make it as minimal is can be. I got this a week ago and really hard dialing things in not so much for physical part but the reaction of the body. I am decent shape for a 64 year old riding 5000-10000 miles per year up till last year. Crash and I decided only to ride indoor on trainer. Well 3 ride in the Catrike I notice what I did not expect. My breathing is much more difficult. I cannot grab air deep in the lungs like riding upright. I don't spin for any length of time, and I am spinner on the upright.

Spinning with butt causes the steering to be jerky with wheels. I cannot find a decent place to mount my garmin 945 that will make it visible in front of me like a road bike. I did get a patch kit together but stuffing it in the bottle holder cannot last need another setup somehow? FIrst ride was 22 miles and the second and 3rd were 31 and 32 miles. Speed way down but not worried about that at moment. Head rest seems off like on my neck not my head and that interferes with my helmet and the helmet band coming around. The head rest cannot come up any higher that I can see so not sure how this is going to work out.

FInally, I would normally ride 2 wheel road bike for 32 miles and cover about 2 hours. I can go 15-18 mph more if I have someone to push me but right now I am at the 12-14mph. The breathing thing is more in my mind at moment because I am working harder but heart rate is actually slower. I live in the flat lands to really in big rig all the time.

I'd never get a two wheeled recumbent but I'm starting to think a recumbent trike, like the Catrike, might be great.
But I can't see riding it up main street, where there is sidewalk parking, or anywhere else there isn't a really wide shoulder.
I don't want to spend all that money on something I'm afraid to ride anywhere.
Where do you guys ride?
