Interloc Racing 12-40 casette

Anyone tried InterlocRacing 9 speed 12-40t ROAD Casette on a fatbike!

How is the shifting on larger cogs. Steps seem high. It is 12-13-15-17-21-25-28-34-40

Are they strong enough for Fatbikes (and i am heavy). I am not familiar with difference between
MTB and road casettes

I am not sure i want to make lots of changes to get 10sp casette.

Make sure you derailleur can handle the wider range and needing to be lower.
Other than that, I see no reason why it wouldn't work, a fatbike drivetrain really is not different save for the wider crank. Cassette and RD are basically the same.
however, I recommend going to 10 or 11 speed since they naturally will work better with larger range and larger rear cog.

Larger steps are less a problem since off-raod you often double or triple shift anyway. but on straight fast or pavement it may be annoying to not be in the correct cadence. Try this calculator to plot out your old and the proposed drivetrain.

There is no real difference between road and MTB, all work the same. The difference is larger chainrings for road and tighter rear spacing (with less range). They go faster and the gaps would be huge with such a large chainring and an MTB cassettes... plot an MTB and a road drivetrain int he gear calculator and you see.

Thanks. The InterlockRacing one seem impossible to find. Sunrace has a 11-40t. Ii will check the derailleur range.
