My Airy is about 2+ hours to the NE from him. It has a Mayberry/Andy theme to the downtown area. It's located at the base of some Blue Ridge Mountains so if you ride north you can climb lots! I've done several centuries around there. Some rides feature Pilot Knob which a 2.5 mile up and back with the middle mile touching 20%. It's a treacherous descent on wet roads as there are lots of turns. The BRP runs north of there. My Airy has a bike shop that is renowned for the used tandems they sell. All good reasons for folks to visit the area with their bikes and enjoy a pork chop sandwich......
