2-Slice Hilly

Yes, that is a play on words taken from the movie, "The Help". Every season I chart a hill ride that is progressively "worse" than before. Today was only a 40mi ride looping through our lovely upnorth county. There are two biggies with a whole bunch of pesky little ones that grew larger by time we were on the homestretch. There were 3 of us on the ride and had a blast. I am going to be a beast on Monday's ride. :)

I took a pic to share the scenery:

That is M32 running between Hwy 131 and East Jordan. The hill was taxing my legs with that 39/28.

Lovely scenery, thanks for the excellent photo! Hill are where your legs come alive, the more hills the better!

I hate hills. I live in Vermont so that's a problem. I know some riders love hills. In fact, one group yesterday tackled six gaps in a day. I can't imagine doing one. Good for you that you like climbing.

Have you been to Northern Michigan? We have hills all over the place.

You can't ride around here without finding hills and you can't go down them until you ride up them.

Wow, I live in the South Carolina low country. No hills like that here.

Speaking of Hills, I rode this one on Saturday. That climb at 75 miles was just plain nasty......with several more grunts after that.

That looks like a hilly ride! :)

This was the first ride I've had where after a 5mi warmup up on the flats, there was zero level ground the next 35. We had a false flat for 4mi that is an optical illusion where you just cant figure out why you have to be in the small chainring. I checked the elevation on the GPS and we were clicking off 1 foot of climb every 30 feet but nothing on the horizon to clue us in.
