To the OP's original question - add me to the 10-12mph crowd, especially when touring. Needless to say, I ride alone!

Faster or slower really only matters when you're riding with someone else. Or, to put it another way, as long as you can keep up with yourself and finish in time, you're okay.

I'm a LOT slower since my heart issue ---- just can't seen to get it going! I'm going in for a 4 hour stress test next week, to see if the docs can figure it out.....
