Anyone going to ride during the Lunar Eclipse?

I know all you "daytimers" have an aversion to night riding, but is anyone going to ride during
tomorrow night's Lunar Eclipse? It is supposed to begin at 9:07 PM, with totality beginning at
10:11 PM, eastern time. I plan to be out from 9:30 to 10:30, even if just for a few miles.
I think I can find a good, local viewing spot.

Nopers. I'm heading for bed about that time.

Great idea. Blood Moon. In Los Angeles, the maximum eclipse with be at 7:47 PM on Sun, Sep 27, 2015. It begins at 5:11 PST and ends at 10:22 PST. I imagine good viewing will be from 7:15 to 8:15. (Sunset is at 6:44).

I just started growing my beard. A couple hours of full moon exposure should really bush it up.

also Pacific time. skies were clear . :thumb:

Just after sunset, I Walked out onto the Riverwalk . It was already darkened at Moonrise ,
then, as it got higher in the sky
the bottom started to come out of the Shadow of the earth.

Clouds. I hate 'em. Sigh.

+1000. We're forcast for overcast tonight through probably midweek.

We COMPLETELY missed Comet McNaught's (C/2006 P1) daylight apparition in early 2007 due to overcast that lasted for weeks. Oh, to live in the desert southwest instead of this humid subtropical climate.

Nope. Unfortunately, it was rainy here, and no one could see the moon.

Forgot about it until about 11pm - no sign of it by then, due to clouds and timing.
I hope to go out for a bike ride during the next one in 2033 - that's be a good night-time activity for an 83-year old.

Staring at the moon and riding at night....should we have done that??

It was absolutely beautiful here in the UK at 3.00 a.m.

At least that's what people tell me. I was fast asleep.

I walked outside on a clear night at 10:05 EDT, looked at the moon and said, "Wow."

It's a 'given' that whenever there's an eclipse, it will be cloudy here. The moon was impossibly big and very bright on the western horizon... and then the cloud bank moved in. :(

OldsCOOL 09-28-15 05:00 PM

While it was cloudy during the big event, this morning in the early daylight the moon was very visible.

I headed out at 9:15. Rode about for a bit, then headed up to a local college campus, that is built up the side of a hill.
Great viewing! Took it all in until 10:15. Bedtime does call, after all. The kids were out with their telescopes, laptops, pads,
etc. Looked like some of them were recording it for future generations. Oh... Was asked by a lovely young woman if I was
a student. :D So, a good time was had by all.

Huge moon in the sky as I rode to work at 7:15 this morning.
