Seasons are changing.

Gravelriding home from work this Friday the gravel was frozen a few stretches above 1500 feet. Time to put on studded tires. Beautiful weather makes for some really great fall riding.

How far north are you?
There is a brisk-ness in the air at sea level locally, just below the 48th parallel, roughly the equivalent of Paris.

Down here, SW FL, still having 80F+ so no need for me to be concerned about fall riding. FALL being a word I'm not too crazy about. Prefer UPRIGHT riding.

Enjoy the changes coming and stud away.

Humidity has backed off some, much less rain,
From now to about mid May Central Florida will be what I consider perfect.

Here in Oklahoma we're going from the windy season to, uh, another windy seaon. Temps are great, though, this time of year - highs in the mid 70s!

Here in northern Maine its snowing right now. Close to 2 inches on the ground, and forecast to snow off and on the rest of today and tonight. <sigh> Gonna be a long winter on the trainer.

Louisiana is in the middle of our two typically 6 to 8 week stretches of nice weather each year. Other than fall and spring, it's either too wet and nasty or hot and humid to be very pleasant outside. Summers and winters are no problem to deal with in an absolute sense (unlike those of you farther north, for example), but they don't exactly just entice one to go out of the house by and large.

Absolutely beautiful today, though. Currently about 67F and wispy cirrus clouds in a blue sky. Think I'll head outside for a while.

Down here in Droughtopia it's been very unseasonably warm. We are having our first cool day today. We are all waiting for El Nino to come swooping out of the ocean and clobber us.

South Louisiana is about like Florida. Its been in the 80's but a real cold front came through and it stayed in the 70's this morning.

Got our first snow today, in Northern Wisconsin. Wore the wool tights and jersey, and dug out the fleece-lined winter shoes for my ride this afternoon.

Downright pleasant on the ride today with highs in the 80s after weeks of 100+. It was pretty humid, though, and my gloves were even soaked through and sliding around on the bar. Supposed to go back up to the 90s next week.

Hey plodderslusk,

Sorry to do a little hijacking. Read a NYT story last week about Middle Eastern Refugees using a route from Russia and crossing into Norway near the Arctic Circle. Seems they're not allowed to walk across so they buy bikes in Russia and ride them. When they get to Norway, the bikes are taken from them as they're deemed unsafe. There's a photo of a mountain of taken bikes. Why are they unsafe? Do you have some sort of bicycle inspection system over there?
