Or buying your first relatively newish car that came with only an AM radio. Air Conditioning meant opening the vent window and the kick panel vents.

You turned the High Beams on by pressing a button on the floor with your left foot

Your first Fender Stratocaster was painted with Dupont automobile lacquer colors

You can emphatically explain to the younger set how disco did kinda suck but they used less synthesizers and had decent production values.

At the tail end of an 160 mile ride, finding my car keys took almost as long as the ride itself. In the scramble to get going that morning, they never left the roof of the SUV.

Many thanks to the good folks of Wisconsin-they left car intact along with a parking ticket.

Well, the floor mounted high beam switch was more convenient to my mind. The rumble seat also had advantages...stuff the noisy little bugger kids in there and get some in the cab peace and quiet. Worked well for my parents, Model A coupe family car, until the third child...my bratty little sister...came along in '49.

minor correction. If your kids are only in their 20's odds are you're still a youngster in my book.

You don't have to be that old for that one. I bought my first brand new vehicle c. 87 and that had only an AM radio. Of course maybe the fact that I think 87 wasn't very long ago is a sign I'm starting to age.

But having not yet hit 60, I read this forum because it makes me feel like the kid in the room.

I believe low end cheap smart type cars have AM only as a base option.

When you're the oldest by 2 decades of 4 MTB bikers dragging 300 pounds of lumber (for a table ramp) on a 1-wheel game cart up a slippery 15%-20% grade and you see a flat spot ahead and call out "I think this is a good spot to take a breather" and the crew halts smartly and youngest looks you in the eye and quietly says "Thank You".
