Another over the hill rider
1 Attachment(s)
Traded in my MTB for this. I injured my back in Iraq and was no longer able to ride it. Donated it to a veteran org. and got this. Very comfortable and can ride for hours. Hoping to do a few day ride this year.

I have the only one that I know of in my county. I wish there were more. I'm to slow to ride with the uprights
|
I don't even have the only one in my house - my wife saw how much fun I was having with mine, so now she's got one too. No more searching for someone to ride with for me - now all I have to do is up my game to be as fast as she is.

I definitely enjoy my Catrike. I plan to use it for this year's "Hotter n' Hell Hundred."

Whenever you think you are over the hill, it's time to find another hill.
|
I hate hills
|
Ah---------------------but remember once you are over the hill, you pick up speed!!!!
Even at 77 I am a tiger going down hill with the wind!!!!!!! :) |

Pedaling all day long on an open flat plain into a 25+ mph headwind is way worse than climbing hills. Riding a low recumbent probably changes that dynamic a bit...

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=513576 The trike looks sweet, you'll get the hills conquered, many of the trike riders around here have gotten pretty quick in their climbing. Take care of yourself, keep riding, its the best therapy you can imagine, it helped me get through some tough times and a bad disability period. You'll find this forum to be supportive and friendly as well as encouraging, stick around. Bill |
I bought the MTB back in 2006 and maybe put 50 or so road miles on it before I was deployed in 2008. Team R4V gave me the grant for the trike but did not want it so I sent I to Team Semper Fi who will make sure it goes to another vet. since I got my SPD peddles and shoes, hill are much easier. Thanks Bill

Sorry to hear you hurt your back, and a little jealous of your new ride. ;) I've still never tried a regular recumbent, but I'm thinking about it a little.

You won't regret it.

Now you must grow a white beard !:)
