WFNBD sucks!!!
Ordered up a new bike and now I am waiting for NBD. This part sucks! Keeping my weekend plans flexible, though, hoping for delivery on either Friday or Saturday!
And, this is a N+1, then N-2. Something about townhouse living had my wife unhappy with me owning 6 bikes (when 2 of them barely get ridden). Luckily, the others are ridden a lot :) |
I'm with you and I'm presently waiting myself. I ordered a new Marinoni Genius/Campy Record a couple of weeks ago and am still waiting for it. Maybe next week I hear.
For me this bike is (N+1) + (1-1) = N+1. I bought my Cervelo at an end of year clearance knowing full well it was too big for me; turns out that 4 years ago (when I was 54) my body was more forgiving than now, and I've decided to end the suffer fest with a properly sized frame. Since my son is a Marinoni dealer and can get me a substantial discount, it makes sense to buy that brand. Moreover he will also take care of selling the Cervelo for me. My "N" bikes include a mountain bike, a cross bike that I use as city bike, a hybrid that I gave to my other son, a late '80s Miyata Team Dura-Ace that I loaned to my oldest son (the one who owns the shop), and a Marinoni Leggero special from 1993 that is still my favourite bike. So the new Marinoni will be one in, one out leaving me still at N+1 :) |
Funny, isn't it? You'll hem and haw and vacillate about making a purchase for months. But once you've decided you want it, you want it now ... and I mean NOW.
Be sure and post up some pix of your new amore. |

You Poor thing ,,,LoL Catalogs from the advertisers would start arriving about 3 weeks after sending the card in. Then you would fill out the catalog order form and mail it with a check, wait two weeks or so and maybe then your parts would arrive. |
I understand, I stopped by a LBS that was 4 hours from home so not really a "L" LBS but it was the closest dealer for what I wanted. Ordered for my N+1, turns out it takes 6-8 weeks to get the bike in , stripped, powered-coated the color I want, reassembled, and then set up for me. Waiting is painful! The past few weeks I have been traveling and staying busy so it hasn't been that bad, but now about to head home and stare at an empty spot in the bike rack in the garage . . .

I guess I am lucky, it is in the shop and was about 75% built last night! Any luck at all she will be covered in mud later this morning!

Had my first ride with my new bike, and she is amazing! Easily the best MTB I have owned or ridden!

Remember the reader information card from magazines, where you circled the little number of the advertisement that interested you and the magazine forwarded it to the advertiser?
