My first week at MD Anderson.

Well we started my treatments Monday. Radiation and chemo both on Monday. The rest of the week we did radiation. Tuesday I didn't feel real good but I wasn't unbearable. Wednesday and today we rode the mountain bikes. My wife is a real gem. She has coordinated all of the lodging and done all the driving in the Houston traffic. I still have a long way to go,but I'm in the best place I can be. Be good to yourselves and others. We're all we have.

You are fortunate to feel good enough to ride, and doubly fortunate to have such a supportive wife. F*** cancer.

Good luck with your treatment and keep up that positive attitude. That's most important. Your wife's support is very commendable and a key aspect of getting through this tough challenge.

Good to hear from you again. Sounds like the first week went well. Be forewarned that the effects of the treatment is often cumulative.

I wanted to say same, could not word it, but Artmo did!
Attitude is key ingredient, and is your (and spouse's) job.

Very nice to have some play (ride) in the schedule.

Ask questions, verify drug dosages, be nice to nurses...
Wishing you success with treatment.

Kick its a$$. Use everything you can against it: chemo, diet, herbs, meditation. I was an ONCC RN for about 12 years. Everybody that fights with everything doesn't make it, but the ones that make it fight with everything. Another thing: Keep laughing when you can, and keep doing what you love as much as you can.

Good to hear from you, I am keeping you in my prayers, as well as your wife. I can vouch for having the support and love from the wife is big time important to making it through the trials you are facing. Your positive attitude is going to be a big asset in getting past the chemo and radiation's effects. Glad to see you felt up to a little bicycle time, too. Please keep us posted as you go through this, and keep your spirits up.

Get well and heal body, mind, and spirit. Sounds like you have the last two taken care of already. Just the one hill left to ride! You can do it!!
